2020 GLB 250
Another question about fog lights

I just bought a 2020 GLB 250 with the AMG styling package. The place where the fog lights should be have been covered up with these cool looking vent fins (that don't actually do anything other than look cool). What is strange is that I also have a button for the fog lights inside the car, and when I push it the fog light icon illuminates on the screen right next to the headlight icon. So, my question is, are the fog lights still there, under the vent fin things? And if not, is the wiring still there? I would like to install fog lights since I apparently have a switch to turn them on, but I don't want to take the front bumper apart just to discover that the wiring harness is not even there.

You are most likely turning on the rear fog light. While the vehicle is not equipped with front fog lights, European vehicles feature rear fog lights which can also be illuminated even though Americans do not know about them or use them. The icon illuminates orange in your gauge cluster. I have not heard of a way to install fog lights on a vehicle that does not include them, nor would you want to as that would require extensive work to the front end for something that won't likely be very noticeable due to the strength of modern headlights.

Agree with js_cls. GLB250 has both front and back fog lights. Front indicated as green on your instrument panel and rear indicated as orange. Since GLB35 does not come with standard front fog lights, yours are most likely rear. I had to google it to figure out what the orange fog lights actually do, as I was looking at the front of the car and could not see any difference when they were on. That's just so cars behind you see you better. Also helps backing into the driveway in the dark.

Is it possible to do the reverse? Install those vent cover things over the top of or instead of the lights?

I guess in theory you could, if you disconnect fuse for the fog lights and replace existing trim with fog lights for the one without, but why would you? There are certainly fog light trim panels on ebay you can purchase. However, I do not know if GLB35 trim would fit GLB250. Search for "fog light frame trim" on ebay or aliexpress and you will find bunch.
