UPDATE on my Lemon
So i have to decide, buy the:
- 2021 X3 demo car that has 6k on it for an additional $25,000 @ 2.99 interest rate
- 2021 C300 Avantgarde Edition. NEW for an additional $21,000 @ 1.49 interest rate.
So what it comes down to is what is more reliable here and better to OWN for a long term. Im already losing $20k - $25k because i have to forcefully trade in and pay up. What ever i buy now, i will keep it 7-8 years until the extended warranty for both of them end. How reliable is C300??

But are you setting yourself for disappointment again? I do not think you should expect Lexus relatability from German cars. I love my GLB for the way it drives, not because it is most reliable car. For that reason, like you, I purchased 6 year extended warranty, and I do not keep my cars longer then that anyway. I owned number of new Toyotas and Hondas over the years. They were good and reliable cars, but I did not love them
.PS. They knocked off another $2100 since i found they were sneekely trying to sell me snow tires. Now they are asking $18,000 which is MUCH cheaper than X3.
I hope the sound system is decent in the C300.

One question about C300 since its hard to divorce MB, is it a rear wheel drive?
Now they are asking $18,000 which is MUCH cheaper than X3.
I hope the sound system is decent in the C300.I didn't know the difference in cost of borrowing is that high for the C 300 compared to the BMO in Montreal, it is opposite where I am and matter of fact MB has been raising the interest rate here compared to BMW. In that case for pretty much the same tier of vehicles, the C 300 is the better buy. Do you like the looks of the C 300 though? Since you mentioned you don't want to part with MB I am not sure if I should continue doing research on other brands for you, it is up to you, let me know.
As others mentioned, yes the C 300 with 4MATIC is rear-wheel bias AWD and IIRC it is at 45/55 torque split. Keep in mind, the C 300 doesn't have MBUX, it has COMAND so test that out too on a test drive, it is basically an older system compared to the GLB you had. The GLC 300 however does have MBUX.
The C-Class is a tier above the A-Class and B-Class (in your case, the GLB) like someone else already mentioned so you would find better quality materials in the interior that you would likely appreciate.
Glad they knocked that amount off the C 300 avantgarde edition. Thankfully, that is basically the last model year for the W205 so most likely all problems and glitches has been resolved (in your case the S205 for the wagon).
Like everyone else mentioned though, test drive it so there is no chance of buyer's remorse as someone mentioned the C 300 doesn't accelerate as fast as the GLB despite the lower horsepower which they further explained how one has a TCT and another had a DCT.
For the C 300 test drive, see if they let you test drive the one that they are actually selling to you. The W205 has infamous interior rattles and creeks but not all vehicles suffer from this problem, my 2017 C 43 suffers it but I heard the facelift improved a lot in this regards. So try to drive the vehicle on a bumpy road, have a feel of the suspension, make sure you find it comfortable. Listen for noises (if any). I assume you will be putting snow tires on the vehicle right after you pick up? If that is the case you would be likely be replacing the optioned (if optioned) 19 inch with 18 inch winters? If you live in pothole city, the 19 inch might get damaged (unless your vehicle comes with 18 inch which you won't have this issue) If you want to improve the ride quality, get rid of those run-flats.
Still, I am sorry to hear that you are losing money swapping the GLB, I was hopeful that you were able to come ahead and get more than what you paid for it because the GLB I believe is in relatively high demand. That being said, the deal you are getting isn't bad (for the C 300) so I am glad you got that type of deal. If only they can appraise your GLB higher then it would be better but you are doing alright in this market either way.
You mentioned about the speakers and I am glad someone else were able to explain the technical stuff and hardware differences. Did your GLB have base speakers or was it also Burmester? Since you care about speaker quality, be sure to test those out with some music you like as well during the test drive. Do this after you tested the vehicle for noises (if any) like rattles and you had a feel of the suspension, is it comfortable enough? Better yet, you can always test the speakers when you are parked. You may also ask your dealership if they can downgrade to 18 inch but since they tried to sneak you into snow tires I am guessing it will be better to not mention it at all and get snow tires yourself.
You did mention your vehicle is pretty much fully loaded but make sure they specify what features are omitted (if any) because of the chip shortage.
I wish you good luck and hope you enjoy the test drive, please keep us updated on your experience and feel free to ask if you have any questions. Still test drive that Q5 and A4/A5 like someone else mentioned so you have more options to consider.

The debate goes on about what’s better. My grandson and my neighbor said no more BMWs. The neighbor went through a Lexus and now has an Acura. My grandson says that to him my C250 is a disappointment and he left the Germans completely and bough a Ford. I had coworkers who loved their BMWs. My boss bought a W212 because he liked my W211 but he traded a year later for a Cadillac. I know 2 indie mechanics. One swears by Audi, the other prefers BMW but says Benzes are less expensive to maintain as they age.
I read your post thinking OMG I bought one of these things! I would tend to prefer the C300 because it is the end of a model run and most of the quirks should be worked out. MBUX is nice, though. We went with the GLB for pure practicality. We needed place for 7 and the GLS didn’t fit where we would have to park it.
Best of luck.

Drive the X3, don't worry about it being a 2021. It probably has some options (due to the chip shortage) you can no longer get on the 2022.It also is as fast as the GLC, it just has one extra gear in the transmission
