Hello everyone!, am newbie is my first MB , i notice that the front bumper of GLB is kind sharpie shape curve all round in front ,am worried about it , if someone back up can hit you or you can accidentally hit car in the front ,how bad is gonna be ,because to me Mb GLB look fragile the shape design look. It can be crushed or scratches easily?
since i don’t have the front plate in front on my country.
how you can deal with that is there any option?to prevent it?

 

Most of the new modern cars no longer have traditional steel bumper, and instead have plastic bumper cover. There are few options you can find if you search for "front bumper protector", however most of them are for rear bumper. Some use a self adhesive rubber trim, which is ugly in my option, and in some cases you can fit a bumper protector after you park from one wheel well to another. I am sure after few years someone will start selling metal bumper cage for GLB.

 

agree,yes I find some trim rubber on AliExpress and eBay , but none of them is my taste ,there gonna look ugly if you apply on GLB doesn’t make well (cheap look) for the model .hope there doing some good stuff for GLB soon.

To make you feel better, the flexible front bumper cover (it's called a fascia) on the GLB is no more fragile than the ones on other cars. It will absorb minor hits without damage. If it is flexed to the point where the paint cracks. peeling can happen. Our 2003 E320 had a bumper cover made from hard plastic. It was painted to match the body but there was a piece of yellow plastic underneath. Any contact with a solid object would crack it. The bumper covers on the newer cars are much better than that.

Not to confuse you. What I refer to is the front bumper that is on the car. Mercedes says it is semi-flexible. It will take small bumps. I am told that it can be repaired a bit.
