Hey everyone, I think I decided on the GLB250 versus the GLB35 because of the amount of driving I do. My wife seems to believe the second row is more spacious with the third row option as they are adjustable versus without the third row. Can anyone confirm this?

We have the 3rd row. The 5 passenger GLB we test drove did not seem any different in the 2nd row than the 7 passenger which we bought. The MBUSA web site does not publish separate specs for the 2nd row seats with the 3rd row. The best way to find out would be to visit a dealer and compare.

Note that the 3 row models lose the adjustable load floor. There is no where to store a spare tire and very little luggage space with the seats in use. The 3rd row is also $800 extra to spend if it’s not needed.

 

The second row in a 5 seater version slides back. Perhaps what she saw was the second row seats positioned all the way to the front, and that is why it felt like it was less legroom.

 

I thought I wanted a 3rd row when I first started my search, but I ended up not going with it. I really love the adjustability on the 2nd row. Gives you more leg room and less cargo. Need the opposite? Fine, adjust accordingly. I feel the car is more flexible than my wife's Jeep GC which is a much bigger car. If you need more leg room and more cargo space you probably need something more than a GLB. When I was reading reviews, a lot of them said the 3rd row was only good for car seats/small kids as no adults could actually fit back there.

 

The third row seats are only good for small children. My previous car was a Toyota Highlander with a 3rd row seats and even those were not big enough for an adult. If you truly need a 3rd row for an adult, you have to go for a full size SUV.
P.S. I only used them twice in 5 years I owned the car.

 

The GLB 3rd row seats have a size limit of 5’6½” because of the rollover certifications. Our typical 3rd row passengers are twins 48” tall and weighing 50 lbs. They’re perfect for them and will be for quite a while. The biggest comfort limitation on the 3rd row for adults is the leg room. We have had high school softballers back there on trips under an hour and they don’t complain. But longer trips would be uncomfortable. As far as child seats, though, the best place for those is in the 2nd row because of the difficulty of getting infants buckled up in the back.

We love the GLB 3rd seats and use them a lot, but if you don’t really need them, I can’t see getting them.

 

I have the 3rd row option in my 2021 GLB. Bought used and didn't want that option but it was in the GLB I bought.

Regardless of 2 row or 3 row, the 2nd row slides, and with the 2nd row slid all the way back, there is a lot of leg room in the 2nd row.

Not sure, but both look to have the same room leg room whether it's a 2 row or 3 row version in the 2nd row.
