MBUX ChatGPT Beta
I have read on other MB threads about partnership between MB and ChatGPT, and this morning after updating Mercedes Me connection app on the phone, there was an option to activate this option.
So far I like it, and was wondering what other owners thought about it.
GLB finally got it's sense of humor, that existed on upper MB models, although it still does not want to talk or make jokes about other car brands.
I think it understands voice commands better, and able to look up MB unrelated information online and verbally relay it.
Not perfect though. It's still does not have access to some of the car functions like opening windows, sunroof, or relaying tire pressure, etc.
But at least it's improvement. Hopefully it only gets better.

"Hey Mercedes" with ChatGPT understands voice commands better then before (voice, phrase flexibility, accent variations, etc.), and can provide car unrelated information on different topics over voice, which even Google Assistant sometimes cannot.
Stock voice command will not understand command that is not have precise enough word structure, while ChatGPT is more flexible in processing that request.

I updated the app, tried it out on my next ride. I asked Mercedes a couple of questions about people in the news. She answered then correctly. then I asked her a more "controversial question," about what was happening in the news. She said she couldn't answer that.
I'm still trying to figure out what I gained from having chatGpt. I don't need a term paper written, nor do I need to use it for complex queries about the world

I might give it a try. It could be very useful when I have a car full of 7 year olds with non stop “How & Why” questions. Hey Mercedes works fairly well for in car convenience settings and it can accurately call anyone in our phone lists. But it’s completely ignorant about anything outside of the car. And as Vlad pointed out, it can’t check the oil and tires.

I have read that there were 2 main issues with this betta. 1. People could not figure out easily how to opt out of it, which appears to be resolved with updated Mercedes Me connect app, that has a toggle switch to opt in or out. 2. Owners with MBUX 2.0 having multiple issues due to Betta been developed on MBUX 1.0 version. Since GLB is still 1.0, it does not suffer from same issues.
