clicking/scratching sound after changing cylinder head!
I recently had the cylinder head replaced on my 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB 250. While driving back home, I noticed a clicking sound that happens after the auto start/stop feature activates and I press the accelerator. It’s most noticeable during initial acceleration after the engine restarts automatically.
I contacted the service center that performed the repair, and they assured me everything was fine and no further action was needed.
However, I wanted to ask if anyone else has experienced this issue after similar repairs. Is this sound normal due to the new cylinder head needing to “settle,” or could it indicate something that still needs adjustment (e.g., timing chain, valve clearance, etc.)?
Also in the MB app there is a check engine but not on the car dashboard?
Would appreciate any insights or advice from those with similar experiences or knowledge about Mercedes engines. Should I push for another inspection, or is this just part of the break-in process?
Thanks in advane
