'24 GLB250 Service Interval

Hi.

I had a 2021 GLB250 and the 1st service popup on the instrument cluster at the 1 year mark. Now I have a 2024 GLB250 that I got brand new and I checked the service through the APP and also through the instrument cluster and says it is due on May 2025.. I bought the car end of October 2024. Currently with 5500 miles on it. Is that normal? Isn't the service every 10k/1year whichever comes 1st?

I know I won't be at 10k miles by that time. Should I go ahead and service the car at that time or wait until I get to the 10k miles or the 1yr.

Brand new, as in less than 100 miles? When was the GLB built? A 2024 model could have been built as early as September 2023. Yours could have been built in May 2024 and that’s why it is saying service due in May 2025. The vehicle info label inside the driver’s door jamb (B Pillar) will have the month and year of assembly. Since the GLB wasn’t used until you bought it, you could ask the dealer if that first service interval can be reset.

I took the car out of the lot with less than 15 miles. I checked the label and the assembly date is 4/24 so I think the service interval is following the date of the assembly and not the day I took the car out of the lot. Not sure if the dealer should reset that service interval before delivering the car.

We drive a lot because distance between points here is large, semi-rural to rural. So we always service based on mileage and not time. It wouldn’t hurt to call dealer and inquire, because if the GLB isn’t serviced when the indicator says it’s time, that could affect warranty coverage.
