Just picked this up over the weekend. Wondering if anyone here was the previous owner? 17k miles and spent its life in SoCal. Pretty loaded car BUT it did NOT have the HomeLink option!
Thanks guys (or gals)... So I started researching how to get a mirror with the HomeLink buttons retrofitted. First thing was to figure out what mirror part number I have:
Mirror is Auto-Dimming with Map Lights, NO HomeLink! Mirror Part Number = A2478107708
So then I started hunting on eBay for compatible mirrors. Searching "GLB Interior Mirror" and found a few variations and styles. For those not as familiar with MB part numbers, the first three numbers after the letter (247) will usually correspond with the chassis/internal model designation. In the case of our GLB's its X247 and its close sibling is the GLA H247. So chances are you can also search "GLA Interior Mirror" and find they share the same mirror.
I found a couple of different mirrors and zoomed in on the part numbers for the images:
A2478103810 - Auto-Dimming, NO HOMELINK, NO MAP LIGHTS
A2478103910 - Auto-Dimming, HomeLink, NO MAP LIGHTS
A2478107708 - Auto-Dimming, NO HOMELINK, Map Lights (MINE)
A2478108108 - Auto-Dimming, HomeLink, Map Lights (THE ONE I WANT!)
I also noticed that some had a short blue connector near the mirror arm and some had a longer wire with a purple connector. Decided to investigate and found that my car uses the longer wire with purple connector:
Placed the order for the mirror and just waiting for it to arrive! Hopefully it is plug and play but might need some coding help from @BenzNinja

My guess is going to be that there are various HomeLink frequencies based on region but maybe others can contribute by looking at the part number on the back of their mirrors?

FYI and thanks to the original poster. I went with the purple plug and it's a simple install and plug and play. Works like a charm. But watch how much pressure you put on it when installing it. I cracked my windshield. So this simple mod came out to be a little costly.
