Oil change from the top?
DW is getting a new GLB this weekend, and I wanted to know if I can suction the oil from the top. I know it doesn't have a dipstick, so I wasn't sure if it is possible.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I also have a message in to my Service Advisor to get his input.

That being said, I love to be wrong, as I do wish life is easier that way.

The oil change from underneath is not too bad, though. After removing the splash pan (8 small bolts, 2 push in fasteners) the oil drain plug is facing forward just behind the bumper fascia. You might want to fabricate two 3” high ramps from 2x10s to give a little extra height to get to the back bolts on the pan. A 12”-15” extension helps with the oil filter housing.

yep!! This is the only way that I change my oil I use a siphon pump that I got from O'Reilly's for 10 bucks and hand pump it out of the dipstick... way easier and quicker than jacking it up, removal of splash sheilds etc.. then having to drain.. replace oil drain bolt... crawl back out from under... swap the filter.. refill oil....... me personally I prefer to just stand out from the engine bay and siphon it out.. way easier and way quicker plus you don't have to worry about keeping up with those connector pins and crap like that

˝" tubing or smaller... anything bigger wont fit... go to small and it wont siphon out freely causing the tubing to collapse in on itself... Good luck!! It takes me 15 minutes maybe siphoning out... hope it works for you.
