All Weather with higher wall
I’m looking to get some All Weather tires for my GLB 35. Currently I have Summer tires (255mm, 20” rim and 40 aspect).
I was told that I can’t get any higher in terms of the walls unless I get smaller rims. Is this true?
I was hoping to get a less bumpy ride on thicker tires and also be able to drive off road.
Also, on my current tires, I experience tire scrubbing (hopping and grabbing) when I’m parking at very sharp angles. Will this go away with All Weather tires?
Any advice is appreciated!

Yes, you need to go down to 19" to maximize tire side walls. Even with that you might get scratches in the rims... I went for 255/45R19 from R21 to keep the wider tire size:

Usually summer tires are harder, than all seasons to all weather and winter tires give you a softer ride with softer rubber... Performance is usually similar... 19" rims give you more options on the tires. You can check new CC3/CC3S all weather tires that is just released:

That’s awesome information! It gives me a concise deep dive into exactly what I’m asking. Just out of curiosity, did you experience tire scrubbing when you had the short walls (ie. hopping, bumpiness when you parked with the steering wheel turned to the extreme?
Thanks so much for your help!!!

The winter tires are 255/40R20 ET42 and I have similar scrubbing experience on the extreme turns on the parking. I thought it is rubbing since I have ET42's on that. 19" Michelin AS4 doesn't have the scrubbing, but then I have 10mm spacers with ET42... Maybe it is just tire crabbing (skipping):
