2022 GLB 250 rear carrier bushings failure

This is my neighbors car and last week while driving home from work the two rear tires completely wore through to the steel belts. Obviously this an alignment issue, but after inspecting the rear carrier bushings on the drivers side rear I noticed the upper bushing was cracked in spots and torn as you can clearly see in the pictures. Had the car towed to the local Mercedes dealer and they’re trying to say the bushings are good and the car just needs an alignment and new tires. Please see the pictures. My advice was to replace the rear bushings. This car just didn’t go out of alignment for no reason besides normal road wear. The rear bushings are compromised!!

It should be covered under the Mercedes warranty! The dealer told us “that the bushing is fine and what we think are tears and cracks in the rubber bushing is actually a coating on the rear bushing”.

Now Mercedes is saying the car hit something and bent something in the suspension!!!

So the car was inspected by a Mercedes tech this past Wednesday, Thats when they said the car just needed an alignment and new tires! Today( Friday) we get a call from Mercedes saying “ they tried to do an alignment but couldn’t align the car because there is a bent part and claim the car was in an accident or hit something” How is it possible that on Wednesday the techs missed this while diagnosing the problem? When we asked what part was bent today they couldn’t tell us!!! This is the most ludicrous diagnosis and attempt at a repair I’ve ever seen. The car is still under warranty and the bushings failing are the cause of the tires failing! The bushings and all repairs and alignment should be covered under the factory warranty. Let alone the fact that other certified technician's that work on Exotic sports cars for certified dealerships, have seen the pictures of the damaged bushings and all agree the bushings are torn and cracked and need to be replaced!!! In my professional opinion Smithtown Mercedes Benz located in Smithtown, New York needs some knowledgeable technicians! I honestly wish Joe Buzzetta would see this and look into it. I know it’s not a Ducati or Porsche, but it is a Mercedes.
