Are there any GLC's in the US right now?

I know that GLC's are not scheduled for delivery in the US until November. However, they have apparently been delivering them throughout Europe in recent weeks.

Does anyone know if there are any GLC's in the US? Test models, demonstrators, or whatever??

I have a bad back and entry/exit for me into a GLK is a bit difficult, and I wonder if the enlarged GLC would be any easier. I presently have a 2012 ML and it is quite manageable for me.

The GLC looks like a significant technological advance over the GLE/GLK and I will order one if I find it suitable... I'd rather not wait until November to try one.

I have only seen a few manufacturer plated test car around Los Angeles.
Probably preview cars for dealers reps to touch and learn.

Mercedes of Annapolis, Md had one in their showroom yesterday. They were doing demos for sales and a comparison with the X3 which they had on site also.

That would have been interested to see and participate in. What did you think of the GLC between the X3. We keep going back and forth between the diesel X3 and the GLC.

The GLC was much nicer looking with the curves and interior was superior in my opinion. They were finishing up with the class and began rolling it out the door for the sales people to test drive so I can't really tell you much. Other than I thought it looked good and the quick moment I had inside it it felt very comfortable. A few days prior we had gone to the local BMW dealer and were given an X5 to try for the day. Five miles from the dealer we turned around and said no thanks. We were at the Mercedes dealer test driving a GL450. Still not sure what to do, but my wife really did like the look and feel of the new GLC. Would need to test ride one though. Sorry for the lack of information.

Thanks - that is helpful. My wife is on her third GL350, they have been great SUV's, but she wants a smaller SUV for his next one.

Echoing what jmbaker3 said, my dealer (Boston) told me they had a vehicle last week so that the sales people could test drive it. It seems you can find some posts on Instagram from other parts of the country as well, e.g.:

Is the GLC going to be available in Mars red like the one pictured? I would order one today if it was available.

Wow, the red looks great in that picture, esp. paired with the sport/night/amg package. Definitely a sporty-look.

That's not Mars Red. It's the new Designo Cardinal Red Metalic, which in the US is a $1080 upgrade color option.

Thumbs down on the Cardinal Red. Looks great in that picture but looks dark in every other.

Mars Red was awesome, especially on certain MBs. Brightest and shiniest red out there. My wife has a Mars Red W204 and we've walked out of the store to find people taking pics of it.

Have you seen Cardinal Red in person? It's really good looking. And it's metallic, not flat like Mars Red. I've had Mars Red as well. I liked it too. Cardinal Red may not be for you, but I wouldn't thumbs down a color that someone else might like.

I have, and I prefer Mars Red. And me saying I don't like it is much different than me saying people are dumb for preferring Cardinal Red. I don't think that, it's a personal opinion and I don't think this forum would be very interesting if we all agreed on everything.

Just got a call from my dealer. Evidently, Mercedes has announced a release date for the GLC and why they've been holding them.
  1. The official release date is November 21st
  2. The EPA was involved, but not because there is any emissions issue with the GLC. It's guilt by association and since another German Marquee was fudging emissions tests (Can you say VW?) the EPA was testing the GLC very carefully to ensure emissions are as stated and they are.
  3. When the built cars will be actually trucked to dealers is unknown at this time. But given there are many orders already built, hopefully, they'll start arriving soon enough to be prepped and ready for delivery on the 21st.

I ordered mine with Cardinal Red, which is the only red option offered in the configurator. Where did you learn about Mars Red?

Mars Red is still a current color (you can get an SL in it for example), it's just not available for the C, GLC, GLA, E or S Class. Mars Red is a very nice Red. It's a redder red than Cardinal. It's not metallic and it's usually a no extra cost option like white or black. I've had it on several cars and always liked it.

Thanks for the reply. I just looked it up in the SL configurator to see the difference. I want to get about the same color as my ML320 which is "Bordeaux". Any other company would call it "Burgundy".

Cardinal Red, if you haven't seen it in person is not a wine or burgundy red. Cardinal Red has orange tones in it, but I it is in my opinion a very pretty color.

I agree with you. I have a GLE 300d on order in Designo Cardinal Red. It is the highlighted color for the GLE Coupe and looks extremely sporty with all the black and chrome trim. I too like Mars red, but it is not available in the GLE. Cardinal red is the next best thing.

It is. Now, if we could just get MB to do something about the $1080 premium. We're going to pay it, but that money could have bought other options we would have liked to have as well.
