Price Negotiation for either In-Stock or Custom Order
However these were stock cars which were available immediately but not necessarily to your spec.
Our new GLC was a demo with only 2000 miles on the clock and fully loaded (registered 2 months ago) and we got 13% discount off the RLP. Well pleased
I took a quote from an LA dealership generated from edmunds ($38,800) and shopped it to SoCal and NorCal dealers. NorCal dealers told me to take that deal, they simply dont have inventory to match. I went to 2 dealerships in OC, one refused to match, but the other threw in selenite gray ($750) and free shipping to the bay area ($300). Signed the deal and my car arrived in front of my neighborhood a week later.
For all you NorCal buyers out there, look in SoCal. They have more inventory, so dont pay MSRP for this car!

I was screwed over by Mercedes of Wilsonville on an ordered GLC. Been waiting since February and now just found out they sold my car to someone else. They probably got another buyer willing to pay more for the car. Classic dealership BS. Can't believed I am seeing it from a Mercedes dealership. I am back in square one and with a baby due by end of July, I do not know if I an wait for another ordered car.
I remembered dealership in So Cal were doing 10% off MSRP. Is that still available?

My friend connected me to a current salesman who said he would sell me a GLC for invoice. That immediately made me think there must be big discounting on this car, if invoice was the opening offer.
Indeed if you check Consumer Reports, you'll see that many people are getting this car significantly below invoice.
I happened to be looking for something rather rare... My goal was upgraded stereo (Burmester), sunroof, and premium package (which basically means keyless entry, the other stuff is stocking filler) only. I didn't care about any other options and preferred not to pay for them. I wanted blue color but that was secondary.
At one dealer I found basically exactly what I wanted, but in red. Burmester, sunroof, premium, nothing else (except the heated seats and blind spot warning, which are on every GLC I've seen in stock). Red costs extra (above and beyond blue) but there was nothing I could do about that. It's better than paying $2300 for a $300 GPS device (that is to say I did find one in blue, but it also had Multimedia, 19 inch wheels, rear spoiler... stuff I don't care about).
The dealer's opening offer was $300 over invoice. I started at $1000 below that. I wound up coming up $300. Thus I got the car for about $400 below invoice.
I suspect if I had negotiated harder I could have gotten it for maybe $700 to $1000 less than I paid. But I had already put 3 or 4 days into shopping. I needed to bring that to a close. Also, when I was looking at the car, another couple looked at it just after me and the wife said "Oh, I like this one!" as she was opening the door. Who knows, maybe they were actors from the dealership! I had some worry that the couple might make an offer above mine, maybe even for sticker price -- they struck me as those kind of people. ;-)
So in order to get the deal done and save time, I was willing to pay a few hundred more than I probably could have if I had felt like walking away, negotiating for another hour etc etc.
Bottom line is in Southern California if you focus on a model that a lot of dealers have, you're a good negotiator, and patient, you should be able to get the GLC for $1000 or more below invoice. Pretty sweet deal!

I am seriously thinking to buy the 2016 GLC 4 matic and would like to know what your car is equipped and where do you buy your car? If your dealer is in Michigan, then I am in luck. Highly appreciate your response and help. Have a great day.
