front Bumper different for NA?

Hey guys, I couldn't figure out why the GLC with AMG package looked odd when I checked it out at the dealership the other day until I compared pics to the EURO models.

Our front "chrome piece" is weird and makes the car look higher off the ground . I know this isn't a big deal but it's actually a dealbreaker for me. anyone else notice this?

Yes, gives the front of the car weird proportions, I don't understand why they did this.

Blame the US government. By having these approach angles, the GLC is classified as a truck and is counted in that category for average mileage. If they used the shallower approach/departure angle bumper, it would be counted as a car.

It doesn't bother me at all. It certainly wouldn't have stopped us from buying a fantastic car.

Find that hard to believe since its an option not standard, also BMW Msport SUV's do not have modified front bumpers from euro cars and are quite shallow.

Would love to see source, I was thinking more insurance crash testing mandates front bumper must cost XXX to replace, might have been a cost reduction.
