Pano roof on the GLC

What do you guys think about the Panoramic roof on the GLC. Is it absolutely necessary?

I am in the market for a GLC and have 2 builds at the dealer, one with pano the other without. I am still trying to decide is the extra ~1500$ worth for the Pano?

somewhere i read, if the car has the pano, it increase the resale value

i live in south cal so not sure how much i would like to use it.

Absolutely necessary? No. Absolutely wonderful to have? Yes. I can't imagine living in a nice climate and not having it. Both our GLC300 and C300 Sport have the Pano Roof.

Dumb question… from my last test drive i can't seem to remember, does the Pano in GLS come with the sliding cover, in-case i decide not to enjoy the wonderful views
Travel with new born baby is what is making think, should i or should i not go with the Pano

Also i hear… Pano (the glass) adds extra weight and does not remove the outside ambient noise to a great extent…and also might leak when it gets older

Yes, it has an electric sunshade. You retract the sunshade first, then the pano roof. The roof itself is highly tinted and the shade cuts out any direct light, so I can't imagine it would be an issue with a newborn in any way.

I don't know if it adds extra weight, but I wouldn't worry about it. We're getting great gas mileage and pick up is outstanding. I had the same Pano roof on my 2012 E350 and it never leaked. If you go through any of the threads on various MB cars, I don't think you'll find any where people have experienced leaking Panoramic Roofs.

I have it in my GLK350 and it makes the interior hot when parked in direct sunlight. Hence had it additionally tinted. Need it no. Liked it yes!

Well well....
After a lot of thought to it..got my GLC without it...
Knowing that I am not going to use it much, Could not justify the extra 1350$ for it
