Thanks for all of the help in this forum. I really like the GLC, but got a deal on a BMW X5 that I could not pass up. I ended up with an X5 for about the same price as the GLC.

That's great, considering the X5 is on par with GLE. Let us know about your initial impressions and how it fares compared to an MB. Congratulations.

I might be in the minority here, but I think the new X5 is BMW's nicest SUV right now. Not too big, but still has plenty of space inside. Tons of features, and great engines/transmissions. Pretty attractive appearance IMO. Don't feel bad, the GLC will still be around in 2-5 years when you're in the market again!

With comparable options, it's considerably more expensive than the GLC. Optioned out, the GLC is ~$67k, a similarly equipped X-line X5 is ~$80k. It's a nice car but not really directly comparable to the X5.

Yup, you're right. At that price point you better cross shop with the Volvo XC90 and Audi Q7 (see latest Car & Driver magazine). That's a whole other discussion, but he only mentioned GLC and X5 here

I turn in my X6 in a few weeks...I was there yesterday getting my lease end pre-inspection and they were trying hard to get me to look at an X5. I'm just ready for something that's NOT BMW. My wife is going to go look at the Volvo in the next few weeks. Hoping it's available at the local auto-expo this weekend.

Congratulations on your new X5! Although X6 is my dream car (the price is a dream for me too), but X5 is also a nice looking car.

My GLC build list is around 51K and I am really curious on your case. Would you mind to share your price on GLC, and with the same price what did you get on X5?

BMW builds great cars and I've had two wonderful bimmers. I'm tiring of the "sameness" though, and that's part of the reason for me opting to go MB this time.
