Its a fuzzy area with car based CUVs your limitation is the physical vehicle structure. In this case the specs I was able to find in the owners manual shows 275lbs max tongue weight, which is a little higher than the typical 200lb limit of most the CUVs in this size class.

Even a class II bracket meets that max vehicle rating. Today the reciver size doesnt really mean much. My Subaru has a 2inch receiver but its max rating is 200lbs. The 2inch simply lets me use some older bike racks.

The rack weight + bikes weight and the lever effect of the rack given how far out the bikes hang all play into that max vehicle rating, not the hitch rating given the vehicle in this case has the lower weight rating regarding tongue weight.

Note the above link. Its a class II and a 1.25. no need for an adapter.

Now the official word is out. Base don the Dealer Ordering Guide of 2017. The hitch is Class II. Apparently, wrong information was given out last year.

I wonder whether the electrical connector for a trailer is a 4-pin or 7-pin? I would like to install an aftermarket trailer brake controller, which I believe requires a 7-pin connection socket.

That's pretty narrow. That makes it hard to use with most products out there, which are made to fit the standard 2" hitch receivers...

In Norway, the GLC is allowed to carry 2000kg (approx 4400 lbs) of trailer weight. Not sure if we get different hitches here, as in the US.

Can anyone ordered a hitch confirm?

Thanks
