How's your GLC's build quality?

So far after taking delivery and detailing the car I've noticed 3 minor issues,

1. Exhaust tip bent at factory, the trim piece surrounding the exhaust tip prevents this from happening after assembly.

2. Large engine bay gasket surrounding cowling not completely seated correctly on passenger side.

3. Driver rear window seal not completely seated.

I fixed all of this myself execept the tip which I attached a photo of.

can't see the picture you are talking about.

my car off the lot had an alignment issue. the car/steering wheel would veer to the right. Had to get it adjusted.

so far everything else is okay.

B pillar rattles are a known problem.

The window seals on mine had to be reseated to make the wind noise bearable.

Why don't you take it to the dealer and get it fixed under warranty?

My right tailpipe looks like yours...maybe it's supposed to be that way? It's hard to see unless you get down there so it really doesn't bother me.

Mine are perfectly oblong. But I'm with you, without the camera, I never would have seen or bothered me if not perfect.

Tip does not bother me that much, its the fact that a damaged part can be factory installed, slip through quality control at the factory and port and dealer and arrive to a customer in such condition.

JEVA's post leads me to believe its a issue with production that prob affects quite a few cars.

Mine is probably not quite as bent as yours but it definitely does not match the other (left) side which appears to be perfectly oval.

My exhaust pipe ends appear to be as they should be...oval.

In that the discrepancy is minor, not affecting vehicle operation and can only be seen when on hands and knees I would probably live with it.

Easy for me to say as mine are ok.

Interesting...I also have issue with driver side rear window. When I have the window rolled up as I normally do, I can hear rattle sound like something is loose. Then when I roll down the window even slightly the noise goes away. Dropped it off at Service Dept for inspection.

Can original poster please explain how you fixed / seated the window seal on driver's side rear door? The noise is killing me and dealer would not fix because they couldn't hear it when they had it. I think I can fix it myself like you did.

Mine is a Feb built vehicle, covered over 5000kms on rough country roads (including dirt) within first month of ownership, and after a wash looks brand new (as you would expect), no rattles and everything works perfectly. I think the build quality is as good as one could expect from a mass produced mechanical product.

Besides if something goes wrong within the first 3 years, it is covered by the standard MB Australian warranty .
