Tip does not bother me that much, its the fact that a damaged part can be factory installed, slip through quality control at the factory and port and dealer and arrive to a customer in such condition.
JEVA's post leads me to believe its a issue with production that prob affects quite a few cars.
Interesting...I also have issue with driver side rear window. When I have the window rolled up as I normally do, I can hear rattle sound like something is loose. Then when I roll down the window even slightly the noise goes away. Dropped it off at Service Dept for inspection.

Can original poster please explain how you fixed / seated the window seal on driver's side rear door? The noise is killing me and dealer would not fix because they couldn't hear it when they had it. I think I can fix it myself like you did.
Mine is a Feb built vehicle, covered over 5000kms on rough country roads (including dirt) within first month of ownership, and after a wash looks brand new (as you would expect), no rattles and everything works perfectly. I think the build quality is as good as one could expect from a mass produced mechanical product.
Besides if something goes wrong within the first 3 years, it is covered by the standard MB Australian warranty .
