Launch Edition

Went to the gym this evening and parked next to a white GLC. It had a launch edition badge on the front fender. I've never seen one of those before. It looked really nice in white.

GLC 250
I did some quick googling but didn't turn up anything of substance - what made the launch edition the launch edition? What's special about it?

Have seen a few white GLCs on the road now, and it actually looks really nice. I am not usually big on white cars, except for a VW Passat R36 I've previously owned. Much like that car, the GLC looks great in white.

They are getting super common in Australia now (highest selling car in its segment I believe) so it is getting quite common to see GLCs on the road in all the different colours. I'm usually not big on silver either, but it looks great on the GLC! Must be the shape/styling.

I'm really pleased that I got the metallic white for the wife. It looks great in the sun and with the contrasting black and silver trims.
Only problem is that it does show the dirt up very quickly

2016 GLC 300
The Launch edition was a run of vehicles all the same exact equipment. They had Saddle leather interior, Bermester sound, nav, pano, lighting pkg, blind side and the 19" 5 spoke. No HUD and not sure about the other 2 pckgs. They all retailed for $52,105 approximately. They were allocated to dealers based on their sales numbers. They were quite nice and sold quickly.
