Glove compartment light

Does anyone know how to turn on / off the glove compartment light? I see there is a light fixture inside the compartment. However there is no switch visible and it does not automatically turn on, like I assume it should when opened.

Nothing shows in the manuals on this, so it's a mystery.

Haven't checked so don't even know if I have a light....but I did notice that the space under the centre armrest is lit and appears to be constantly lit (presumably after dark).

Did you check in darkness?

No...do you mean darkness settings in the screen display options or a switch/button? Does anyone have a light in glove box that works?

I mean darkness as in not daylight......however scrap that as I have checked my own since and the light is on even in daylight.

The glove box light will come on if opened when the ignition switch is in at least the first position (first push on button or first click on inserted key) and go off automatically when the glove box is closed.

Ahh...thank you. I knew there had to be some explanation why it is not on automatically. It is designed then for the passenger only apparently.

Mystery solved...it definitely works without any settings modification. Ignition just has to be on or engine running for the light to work.
