Brand new GLC Bluetooth Phone and Bluetooth Audio don'twork

Hi! Just purchased the 2016 GLC this Monday(my first Mercedes!). I was so excited and the SA helped me connect my phone to the car. The music on my phone was playing perfectly in the car. However, when I drove off, someone called me (the phone never ringed in the car, I just felt vibrations from the phone). and when I pressed the "pick up" button, the call would not pick up. After the phone stopped buzzing, the car would disconnect my phone from the audio bluetooth and then reconnect the audio again later. But I was never able to pick up any calls.

I drove back to the dealership and we spent hours there trying to figure it out. They even tried the SA's phone and they encountered the same problem. Either they could connect my phone to the phone portion of the car and not be able to connect to the bluetooth audio, or vice versa. Seems like they couldn't get both connected. They called me last night and said they still haven't figured out the problem. Has anyone else encountered this with their GLC?

Anyone have tips on how to deal with this situation? Who should I complain to? I was so excited to take home the GLC (I've been eyeing this car since I first saw the commercial last year). I feel like Mercedes should be offering me something for my troubles, but I don't really know what to ask for. Anyone have experience with this?

Thanks guys! New Mercedes owner here (not even sure if I can say that if I dont have my GLC with me ).

A gaggle of MB's
I feel badly you encountered this bump-in-the-road.

For my reference - what type phone do you have ?

On your GLC system - do you have built-in voice control nav (which is COMAND system) or do you have no-nav/card-nav (Audio 20) ?

The "process" for the dealership/sales-delivery fix would be to:

1) Reset the GLC system thru the System options - which erases all prior Bluetooth connections

2) On your phone - erase all prior GLC Bluetooth connections

3) Do a clean re-connect Phone, give you a incoming call to your phone to set GLC-ringer volume - not uncommon for GLC ringer volume to be set low/inaudible from factory

4) The do Bluetooth audio connect - adjust audio volume on your phone to give decent audio volume.

If that process doesn't work - then Service can do two things:

1) A "cold boot reset" of the system - similar to the system reset - but gives a fuller erase/reset

2) Re-program the system - which is done online connected with MB - and system re-programming takes about 90 minutes connection in the shop.

Keep the beat !

I have iPhone 6s and I had to turn on the volume of the car way up to hear the music. I will try turning up the phone volume first. Also, there is no way to select my playlists from the car. Right?

Thanks

I can only speak for the COMMAND system but yes you can select playlists from the CAR if you connect via wires. You cannot do that via Bluetooth. Exactly the same in my VW and my Audi as it is in my Mercedes.

Not sure why you think you are entitled to compensation
