Help! Dealer Order Questions
I'm not completely satisfied with my current 2017 GLC and may wish to build one next year (2018 model). But I have several "stupid" question...
- 1) Do you go straight to the dealer with a sheet of configurations and designs you wish?
- 2) How much do you have to pay (a deposit?) when you confirm the order with the dealer? And when you decide the financing, the time you confirm the order or the time you receive the car?
- 3) Is the contract signed when you confirmed the order with the dealer?
- 4) Is there extra fee for the building one rather than just picking one from the inventory?
Thank you so much!!!

1. Can do assuming you are in possession of the current data. Generally at the beginning of the model year there is a lot of flux in vehicle configuration/options/availability/ect.
2. I paid nothing when I ordered my vehicle. A couple of weeks prior to vehicle delivery you should have financing arranged.
3. I signed nothing until taking possession of the vehicle.
4. No.
Don't take the above as gospel as your dealer may do the process differently, but in general should be at least similar.

You can configure car online and print out the specs, to expedite the process when at the dealer.
- 2) How much do you have to pay (a deposit?) when you confirm the order with the dealer? And when you decide the financing, the time you confirm the order or the time you receive the car?
I'm doing European Delivery, the dealer asked for a minimal $500 deposit that is refundable, at the time he put the order into the system. Financing is done at the time of pickup (price of the car should be negotiated before the order is placed)
- 3) Is the contract signed when you confirmed the order with the dealer?
Contract is signed at time of pickup
- 4) Is there extra fee for the building one rather than just picking one from the inventory?
some dealers give a larger discount when the vehicle is in their stock, as opposed to ordering it

Thank you so much!! By the way, do you have any idea when it is a good time to build a model for the next year? Or, what is the earliest time I can build one for 2018 model?
