Ride height
Hey everyone! I'm just starting to research the GLC43 as a possible alternative to what I drive now. I've been reading in some places that you can adjust ride height via the dynamic select menu. Is this true? What are the various height selections? Anyone know the ground clearances for the different heights? Thanks!!!

Yes you can adjust ride height with Dynamic Select,
Comfort mode
Sport & sport+ which firm the ride and lowers the car.
You can also lift the ride height to max height with a another button.
Sorry I don't know exact height on each setting, but with max height setting it matches most other 4 x 4 off road vehicles.
Only had mine 4 weeks still learning myself.

Awesome! I'm curious what the ground clearance is between the different settings. Anyone care to measure or take some side pictures of the car at the different heights?

MBWorld Fanatic!
You will need a measuring tape I think
Also is dependent on what wheels - there is not a EZ cross reference on the MB side that I know of - since SUV line is road-worthy and not promoted for off-road.
I have attached the order guide descriptive - I would find one - and grab a measuring tape - accurate answer not necessarily EZ.

I just read on a different forum that the GLC can be raised by 30-50mm and lowered by 15mm... still would love to have pics of the different heights. Someone whip out a measuring tape and camera!!

I've taken some measurements off my GLC43 as I'm about to install lowering links, i really like the look of the car lowered even slightly more than sport+ setting takes it.
Anyway measurements are from the bottom of the 21" rim (not to the ground) to underside plastic wheel arch.
Rear Highest setting: 755mm Comfort: 725mm Sport+: 715mm
Rear "Load" setting: 675mm
Front Highest setting: 755mm Comfort: 715mm Sport+: 705mm

You my friend, are AWESOME!! Thank you for taking the time!
Do you happen to know what the lowest part to the ground on the car? Is it the front bumper? If so, do you happen to know what the measurement from it to the ground is (in comfort mode, the others can be inferred from the measurements you gave)?
What are these lower links you speak off?

Not a problem mate, helping like minded people out is what forums like this one's about.
Lowest part of the glc43 is the plastic shroud under the engine. From the engine shroud to the ground in Sport+ is 177mm.
The lowering links alter the height of the car by adjusting the length of the links to either longer or shorter than original link connected to the airmatic height sensor.
I want mine to sit about 20-25mm lower in all modes.

Thank you again!
So by the measurements, ground clearance on the stock GLC43 in these settings is:
- Highest setting: 227mm (8.94in)
- Comfort: 187mm (7.36in)
- Sport+: 177mm (6.97in)
That's amazing ground clearance for the highest settings, more so than many of the other larger SUV's out there.
Justin, please post pictures after you install the lower links! I couldn't find that adjustableairride.com offers the links for the GLC43 yet. How did you get a set?

Yeah in highest setting it's up there for sure! With adjustable links you could go higher, opposite to what I want to do...
Will do, the links are the same as the ML & GL Mercs so I've been told. Get mine in the post this week hopefully.
Cheers

Don't forget that the highest setting is speed limited, I can't recall exactly what speed but thought it to auto lower when going over 40mph. When you are sensible that shouldn't be a problem but I thought I make the point.

i have noticed the speed is one variable for it to auto lower. with mine it also depends on the wind and duration at the high speed. i would say about 110km/h is the limit. but i can drive about 120km/h for 1-2mins before it start lowering. if it is windier out then it lowers sooner around 80-100km/h. if i am doing more manoeuvres as well, such as a going through a freeway entrance/exit it will lower as well. i think it has more then 1 variable.

GLC 43 Coupe
Possible to raise GLC 43 Coupe ride height above Comfort Mode height?
New owner of 2020 GLC 43 Coupe here. Can someone please let me know if it is possible to raise the ride height higher than the Comfort Mode height (for driving in snow)? If so, how can that be done on the display? Thank you in advance.
