Sirius is a highly compressed, high lossy format. No matter which system you have, Sirius will never sound good. I use it mostly for comedy as the music is almost unbearable. Bluetooth is also compressed, but not nearly as much.

I believe Sirius is 64 Kbps HE AAC (highly compressed)
Meanwhile iTunes or Spotify are also compressed using 256 Kbps AAC or ogg vorbis respectively, sometimes higher
At lower bitrates the cymbals and higher tones are lost, music can start to sound muddy and stereo loses its detail
CDs are by comparison uncompressed red book at around 1,500 Kbps
(I used to work for Dolby Labs)

The problem with the USB connection is that it will not recognize flac files. It will only play compressed files, which degrades the playback. I was hoping to plug in my played, and play.

You would be hard pressed to tell the difference between:
- compressed AAC at 256 Kbps or higher
- lossless FLAC
this would require a trained ear and an amazing set up.
