Base model thoughts?

Coming from a BMW 3 series, and want to get into a GLC 300. I have seen some certified service loaners that I'm interested in. Most of these are light on options and are only equipped with heated seats, touchpad controller and a couple other options. It would appear that these come standard with much more equipment than a BMW and the materials are much better.

Any major functionality I might be missing out on without the Premium 1 package? Will I still have the Mbrace remote start features with the smartphone app as well as wifi hotspot?

Looking at MBUSA, I can't see that any particular equipment is required to support either remote start or the wifi hotspot, though the latter does require the mbrace Entertain package at $18/month.

Thanks. Did you order your GLC 300 with the base audio or did you order burmister audio? I'm assuming it's probably fully loaded if you have an E class as well...

The E300 is my wife's. I wasn't even looking for a Benz for myself, but she had such a good experience with the dealer that she insisted I look there. Tried the GLA first (too small), then found the GLC to be just right.

The only options I truly cared about were the HUD and no sunroof. There were no GLCs for sale with those parameters in September, so we had to special order. After a DISTRONIC demo in an S-class, we knew it would be a useful option for road trips, so we added on P3, which required the Burmester audio. Only other non-required option was Sport/Night package.

2017 GLC Coupe
As mentioned - MBrace remote start is standard and free for 5 years. When it comes to features, I would recommend to order only want you want/need. That's what my wife and I did on our car.

We got a coupe with sport package, night package, interior sport package, heated seats, blind spot monitoring and Burmester. The other things we wanted were already standard. I'm fairly certain that it's a very oddly optioned car (probably one of a king )

The packages (P1, etc) had things we liked, but didn't really need and couldn't justify the cost.
