GLC 300 running boards pros and cons please

I don't have them but when it snows people tend to get in the car and knock snow off their shoes/boots by banging them against the bottom sides of vehicle. I really hate that. If that's just painted plastic side skirts they will damage, scratch or crack. Perhaps running boards are better protection for those that bang snow off boots?

I only added them for the kids. They are of no use for adults IMO. Entry and exit is more of a problem if you are trying to not drag your pants on them.

I was taught as a grade-schooler not to bang my boots on the car. It's a basic Kid Skill.

Give that man a cookie LOL. If you did that's great but it's not a universal thing especially if you didn't grow up in the snow belt. The point I was making is that running boards are good for knocking snow off boots.

Like others have said, they look good but are very impractical because if you are not careful you will always get your pants dirty. I am considering removing mine.
