I have watched some of his videos with morbid fascination, concerned about what a terrible national advertisement he must be. (But then I had the same view about 'The Crocodile Hunter', which many Americans thought was really swell.) It does seem plausible that he has a degree in mechanical engineering, because as you say, his technical videos seem to contain quite useful information. If only they were shorter, and to coin his term, not so laden with BS. There was one on the six best ways to ruin your SUV, some of which may well apply to the GLC, and which were news to me.Originally Posted by jeffzzz

However his car reviews are real shock-jock material. It's not clear what game he is playing. Some vehicles, like Jeep, do have a very poor reputation in this country for build quality and reliability. Some of his views simply point out what makes have been popular and unpopular, and why. All of which makes his hard-line position against MB odd, as it has been wildly success here in recent years, and the local industry numbers that I've seen suggest that MB hasn't had reliability problems - only Jeep really stands out as bad. He claims to be independent of car makers, but he does make money as sort sort of new car broker, so one can't but help wondering whether his car reviews are based towards makes where he can make a buck and against those where he can't.
