Engine Temperature Guage

First post here. We recently got a GLC300 and I noticed that the engine temperature reads out in degrees centigrade vs degrees fahrenheit even though my outside temperature is in fahrenheit and the speed is in mph. I asked the sales rep. and he said to go in to the menu and change it. I tried and am convinced that there is no way to change that particular reading. I looked at the mbusa website and it shows the same thing. Although I understand the metric system, I would rather the temperature be in fahrenheit. Am I missing something?
Thanks

On MY glc the current speed is shown by the traffic sign recognition in centre display in MPH but at top of display is also shown in km/H, WHY!

I had the same complaint when first received my GLC about a year ago.

Quickly learned, that from day one, M-B has displayed coolant temp. in metric. And it cannot be changed to F.

Phil, My GLC also displays km/h in the upper right hand corner.

I think it's an EU conspiracy.

About the KM/H in the upper right hand you can go in the vehicle settins and change it. I know because I have the main unit in KM/H and have that one in Miles/H as a reference.

I believe you can remove that, I saw a setting about adding/removing the additional speedometer when I was playing around. Looks like it has some info on pg 223 of the GLC SUV manual.

It's been going on for a while now. In my W211 E63, the oil temp is in centigrade and all other temps are Fahrenheit. An AMG tech friend can't even change it in SDS. However, his 2011 C63 is in Fahrenheit. Weird.

madelko do you mean that our GLC's have been hacked? Have wiki-leaks no boundaries at all?

Wiki-leaks leak the files. Black-hat hackers provide the actual documents. Wiki-leaks does not do the actual hacking. Huge difference.

It can't be changed... but just think.... if that's your biggest complaint, you got a damn good automobile.

Just gone through the UK handbook and found that the adding/removing function for the additional speedometer is not available in the UK, it is always on.
Wouldn't mind if it was in mph but in km/h is of no use whatsoever to me. If I go to Europe I can change the main readout to kmh.

well you can find the odd metric sign the the US on some side backwater highways from when they abandoned the switch-over. very rare though as they would all be ancient and rusty.
