MY18

Anyone know when the MY18's are built, and if there are any significant changes?

I believe builds begin June 1st. As far as changes this is what I saw when I configured my 18. The premium 2 and 3 packages appear to be gone. Most popular options are broken out into packages (e.g. adaptive lighting). Smartphone integration has been added. Command, and it's bigger screen, cannot be combined with Smartphone integration. AMG sport seats and sport exhaust has been added to the options list. The piano black trim has been pulled and replaced with matte black ash with aluminum door trim.

The factory starts re-tooling end of May for MY18 builds to start in June (as VET said) with availability in mid-August. I was not told of any major changes for MY18, but seems like there will be some more than minor changes per VET above. I'm just starting the process, so will inquire a bit more on the 18's, but was told they are not in the MB Order Bank yet, so...

I have the ability to order a MY17 for ED up until the end of this month for delivery in June/July, so will be deciding very soon. I wouldn't mind smartphone integration for MY18, but if it isn't offered with Command, then I don't care.

Could you ask your salesperson for a copy of the latest DOG? (Dealer Order Guide) You can post it on the forums and everyone can see the MY18 changes.

I'll ask him if he has one, but the other dealer I was originally negotiating with was working off a MY17 book, which really wasn't that helpful as packages and options had changed and or been added.

Does anyone know if a diesel version of the 2018 GLC SUV will be offered in the USA?

CarPlay and ambient light

is CarPlay as a standalone option or bundled with other items? Ambient lighting is very nice. Hope it can be ordered without other packages.
Also, do you know grey is also available as new interior color.
I may be able to cancel my MY17 ED order. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Car play is included in the smartphone integration bundle (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay). Based off of the models that have this option it should be ~$350 in the US.

Ambient lighting is part of the Adaptive lighting package (Not sure i that's it's exact name) and that includes the intelligent lighting with LEDs. I am assuming the adaptive lighting is going to be a pricey package due to everything included that isn't the ambient lighting.

I'm not sure if there are other colors as I kind of "knew" what i wanted there and didn't focus on anything else.

Now, to expand on the smart phone integration i.e. apple CarPlay. The information I have right now is that the larger command screen 8.4" is only available with MB's Navi Bundle, which cannot be ordered with the smartphone integration package. This leaves you with the 7" screen. I'm currently leaning towards going with the NAV over smartphone just due to this. I tend to use the displays in my vehicles for things other than navigation and prefer the larger display for this. While having the integration would be nice, the visual of the smaller screen in the cockpit just doesn't look right to me. The 8.4" looks perfect even if the bezel on it is huge.

Thanks for the quick response and points out that the 7 inches screen is small. The CarPlay screen It is not much bigger than my iPhone 6+. I may be better off to use a magnetic vent mount for my iPhone, use google navigation and full touch screen support.

I think i am I am going to keep my June ED delivery.
Thanks again.

Just confirmed that the smart phone integration is not able to be combined with Multimedia package which has the larger screen. i.e. smartphone integration only available with 7" screen.

I asked and everything they know is from the Portal. No guide yet, no pricing yet, no orders allowed yet for MY2018, and 2017MY is closed it out for new orders.

Thanks for asking. Maybe there will be an updated DOG in April.

Probably going to swing by tomorrow to look at different interior options in the flesh, I'll ask, but I don't recall seeing any other sizes. I hope the 21" are still the same style.
