GLC Coupe - color choices...

Hey guys,

Really having a tough time finalizing the color for my GLC Coupe ...

Initially, based on the online pictures, I wanted to get the Lunar Blue Metallic; however when we saw the color in person at the MB Dealership, neither I nor my wife could tell the difference between Lunar Blue and black at first sight. In the sun, yes -- the color somewhat looked like the pictures, but anyway -- that kind of ruled that color out.

We already have black car, so trying to stay away from black, as my son refers to our cars as "the black car" and "the blue car" (he's 2).

Anyway, so after watching a crap ton of videos, I was liking the brilliant blue, while my son has his heart set on the cardinal red.

Any opinions from fellow members on which of the two colors would not make me regret my choice?

Brilliant Blue? Or Cardinal Red? Or am I being nutty for going with a flashy color and stick with more traditional luxury colors like shades of gray etc?

Thank you for your input!

I wanted a Blue exterior when we ordered our coupe, but I also wanted a Red interior. My wife told me that the blue exterior would clash with the red and told me I have to pick one of the colors. If red interior, then the exterior would be White - and to me - Mercedes looks best in White (when there's a Night package)

Color is very personal. I prefer Brilliant blue over the cardinal red.

This is the reason why I wanted blue -

Thank you guys! Yeah, both colors look really nice, hence such a tough choice

My wife has told me to stop asking her questions about the car as she has just about had it with me talking about it literally every day :P

I have Selenite in GLC wagon, we too looked at blues' and red for wifes Coupe. Same issues with Blue looking black. On dull days with red duco dirty, looked really dull, no 'pop'.

Metallic white looked too yellow in daylight so we dumped blue and red and got plain white with red/black interior leather. Had white treated with non dealer paint finish, best ever decision, really 'pops' and stays cleaner much longer. Wife loves car, body shape of Coupe really suits the white colour, we kept chrome and did not get the night pack.

I have ordered a GLC Coupe in Brilliant Blue. They had a convertible at the dealer in brilliant blue and it was amazing how it shimmered in the light and changed color as I looked at it from different angles. Have gone with a red/black MBTec interior for something different.

I was ready to order Lunar Blue until I realized it appears black in any light besides direct, mid-day sunshine. And even then it still appears black from some angles. It's great color for a diplomat's S Class. Or a hearse.

I was initially hesitant about Brilliant Blue, thinking it would be a bright color. Turns out that it looks that way in photos but is more subdued in person. My 2018 Brilliant Blue GLC should be here in a week or two!

Any updates from OP about the color you went with? I'm having the same issues about what color to choose though that red is HOT looking. Did you get it? Can you post pics please?

I had same issue here in uk, brilliant blue or hyacinth red (Slight difference). Still love it in both but went blue and no regrets. Get the car in 1 month but seen several models in both colours at the local MB dealer. Beautiful colour.

you won’t be unhappy with either
