Beware
Something to be aware of........
last night on my way in to a shop I opened the boot/trunk to get a shopping bag from the storage area under the cover in the base of the boot.
I then pressed the lock button on the boot lid and walked away. The horn tooted as normal and I continued to the shop.
On returning to the car I discovered that the boot lid was in a half opened position with the contents exposed.
On checking I found that when I had earlier taken the shopping bag from the storage area under the cover a small plastic clip/hook which is attached to the underside of the cover by a short strap had become caught in the locking mechanism. When the boot lid had closed it hit this plastic clip and reopened as I walked away.
As I said the sound from the horn and the lights dimming etc was normal and led me to believe the car had locked properly.
luckily I was only a few minutes away and no harm was done.
