Hello!
I have to make a decision by next week between going fir tge hybrid 350e or the 250 glc coupe.

They both cost exactly the same due to the tax reductions for hybrids. I am going to mostly use the car in the city running short distances. I have a semi outdoor parking where i could potentially charge the car. What would you recomend?! is anyone driving the glc 350e to provide some feedback? can it run effectively without being charged?

thank u!

I haven't got a 350e but my other daily drive (for last 3 and a half years) has been a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV plug in hybrid.
My view is that it boils down to whether you satisfy 2 key criteria or not-
1. The majority of your trips are under 20 miles (usually urban). That's where electric works well - silent, instant torque and quite restful to drive as well as being cheap.
2. You are able to charge regularly which, in practice, generally means at home overnight (or a dedicated work spot).

My PHEV sits outside the house and I have a charger on the wall. It will go long distances but I prefer my GLC43 for out of town.

is it an option to just use petrol and not charge it at all if i end up not liking it? also its supposed to be able to be charged by the engine if i dont plug it in... hybrid costs 71500 e while petrol 72500 due to our local taxes boosting hybrid tech. Trying to see if i should or should not go for it. My usage is 99% urban on weekdays limited to 10 km. At weekends us like 50 km

I have a 350e. I charge the battery both at home & at work and love it.
IMO it does not makes sense to buy a 350e if you don’t plan on plugging it in regularly. Its fuel tank only holds 45 L, and you can charge the battery from the petrol engine but that it is a highly inefficient and expensive way of driving and completely beyond the purpose of such a hybrid.
It seems like an ideal car for your usage but not if you’d plan on driving from Cagliari to Bolzano and back regularly.
