US GLC43 20inch alignment?
My dealer told me today that the Goodyear (all season 20inch tires) recommend alignment every year or at 15k miles to preserve tire life. Any thoughts on that or it's just a way for dealer to make $160?

I just replaced my front tires after getting only 7K miles on the 21" Continental fronts on my GLC 43, I noticed uneven wear and had the dealer do a front end alignment. They were going to charge me $270 (with air suspension) but I talked them into doing it under the 12 month warrenty period.
So the 20" Goodyears should do much better than my Contis. I would switch to all season tires but none are made for the 21" offsets.

It is my opinion that alignment should be based on the kind of roads you drive on. An example of something that could have a major impact would be rough roads, pot holes, hitting a curb, etc. If the alignment is really bad you will see uneven tread ware on your tires after a few thousand miles. If the tread wear looks even, I wouldn't consider paying for the alignment unless you are installing a new set of tires. Many tire shops & dealers don't want to stand behind a tread wear warranty, without doing an alignment at the time of installation.
