A gaggle of MB's
Quite useful - anyone who has it will get it again - if it bugs you feature can be disabled in the cluster..

agreed. definitely would buy again.
not annoying
distronic also supposedly keeps you from turning into a car in your blind spot if you ignore the beep. have never tried it.

LOVE it. My first car with it, and probably wouldn't get a car without it

Be aware, OP. You asked about PASSIVE blind spot assist and some replies may be referring to ACTIVE BSA, which gives you a little more feedback than the passive system. While I have the active BSA, 90% of the time the passive function is sufficient.
Besides just being “nice” to have to avoid bumping sombody in the next lane, it can save your life. Last summer I had to change lanes abruptly because the vehicle in front of me slammed on his brakes because a car had STOPPED in front of him. It was a divided urban highway with a concrete barrier between lanes. I had no choice but to swerve right, which I did confidently because there was no red triangle in my mirror. I’m sure I could have stopped, but a glance in my rear view mirror showed me a tractor trailer was closing fast behind me. As I changed lanes, I heard lhe semi laying on his air horn. I’m sure he hit the car in front of me, unless he was able to change lanes at the last minute.
Anyway, get the Passive BSA at a minimum.

Thank you everyone for the valuable input. We were concerned the BSA would be too distracting however we decoded to keep the option for $550. after all, this is the primary vehicle for my precious little one year old.

I love the BSA, and has proven valuable many times already. I drive in downtown Los Angeles, and the traffic is nuts! Worst drivers in America... Thus, the BSA is priceless, and has helped avoid many potential collisions.
I strongly recommend it for dense urban areas driving.

I too recommend it. The positives far outweigh the negatives. The only annoying thing is if you are on a highway that splits off to the right (with two lanes going right) or letting you continue on the same road. If you are in the left lane (of two lanes) exiting the highway to the right and there is a car in the right lane next to you, and you activate your turn signal, it will beep loudly thinking you are changing lanes.

Other than that, I love it.
