I have been trying to find at what mileage is it required to replace the engine air filter on the GLC300. I can easily find the requirements for the cabin filters, but not the engine filter. I did find a Mercedes Maintenance Manual online, but while it listed many of the Mercedes, it did not list the GLC300. For most of the ones it listed, it had replacing the engine filter at 70,000 miles which seems way too long. Another manual had it at 50,000 miles. I know that the conditions that you drive in would dictate it, but surely Mercedes has a mileage figure out there. I am coming up on my B service and when I look at that service interval, the engine air filter is not listed to be replaced. I plan on doing my own B service. I would appreciate any help in this regard.
Thanks in advance.

Engine air filters are replaced based on their condition, not mileage. They should be checked every 10,000 miles or so and replaced when dirty. The same is true for cabin air filters.
If you live in a low dust area, such as a rainy area or near the ocean, you may go 50,000 miles before air filter replacement is needed. In an arid and dusty climate you'll need new filters every 20,000 miles or so. Regardless of your location, if you drive in dusty conditions such as frequent driving on unpaved roads, your filters may need replacement as frequently as every 10,000 miles.
I change all the engine air and cabin filters every 10K miles or so. If I'm going to go through the hassle of opening things and inspecting them, might as well change them out. They're $20-25 parts each on Amazon.
MB calls for air filter changes at the B-service which is every 20k miles.
GLC300
Engine air filter MB part 274-094-01-04 (mine also had the Mann part number along with the MB part number) Mann part C 28 004 (exactly same as MB but 1/4 the price)
RE: Auto parts sourced on Amazon, be certain you are getting the correct OEM product. I manage a small (35 cars) fleet and we have had problems caused by with vendors using certain aftermarket filters. In two cases the part appeared to be identical but was imperceptibly different in size, which led to a series of CEL (check engine light) incidents that wasted a lot of my time and shop time in trying to trace the cause.
MB included the service interval info in the maintenance booklet up to 2016 but for some reason no longer include it. I have one and it shows the interval for the engine air filter to be 50,000 miles under normal conditions.

Thanks Flubadub. That is what I had printed out before when searching for the maintenance schedule. I plan to check it at each mantenance period and regardless of condition, replace it at 50K. I expect, however that I will be replacing it earlier.
The problem with "inspection" is what are you looking for? You gotta take out the filter box, undo some screws, then get all the bits of sand, leaves, debris out. Then what are you gonna see on the filter that'll make you decide to not change it? Pull out a microscope and count particle per square centimeter? Inspection alone makes no sense. A service center won't bother to change it to save themselves money, but doing things yourself makes the price moot.
50k is the recommendation for the engine air filter. there's a dust filter and a cabin air filter due at the B service. I plan to change the engine filter every 10k just because ... already have all 3 on hand actually to change @ 10k (I already changed oil @ 5k, I like to stay on top of it).
