I am looking at doing a direct wire install for a radar detector. 2018 AMG GLC 43 SUV.
2 of the 3 fuse boxes in the vehicles specify "N" fuses.
The pamphlet in the rear fuse box says "CAUTION: On fuses 100-129 400-467use only fuses with add of letter N according MBN 10153-2".
Plus the fuses actually show the N as well in addition to the amp ratings. See pic.
Any idea what the "N" designation means? (Checked around a bit in addition to visiting a few auto parts stores....no joy.
Buddy I read somewhere on the forum that the 'N' stands for Nickel plated fuses. I blew 2 of the fuse on my 2015 C400 (headlight circuit) and for the past day I've been searching for them frantically😰

'N' fuses are Nickel Plated and are classed as standard fuses.
'S' fuses are Silver Plated and are classed as 'Slow Blow' and are usually used in High Current systems.
