Exact same circumstance: in 2018, 55mph on a level clear highway, nice balmy day, nothing near us, and the panoramic sunroof of our 2004 Cadilac DTS exploded outward for no apparent reason. Luckily the hard plastic roof liner caught all the debris except for a big chunk which gouged the roof and trunk requiring repainting and a new badge. Dealer and body shop said “never heard of that”. About a week at the shop.

If water is getting in from where I’m pointing with blue thing is it possible to be from that seal or is it the top of the windshield seal


Water leaks to passenger side piller when I pour water on it where I’m pointing could this be windshield seal or this front portion of glass not part of wish Sheild I’m assuming it’s all metal up there and it’s seeping in through top of windshield. I don’t want to take headliner down but it’s looking like I’m going to have to buy now from what I see on this post looks like front glass is just glued on ? Any info on this would be amazing my car is getting soaked and I have it all ripped apart thinking this is the cause now

Does anyone know what’s located under this panel? I’m assuming there’s electronics under there. Is it covered by any kind of shield to keep it from being damaged? I just ordered the replacement. $1200 plus labor. Now I have to try to keep it from getting wet Until I can get into the dealership.
