GLC Coupe 250 Petrol Fuel Consumption too high?!
Hello!
Just purchased an amazingly beautiful GLC 250 Petrol Coupe, when i was checking it's specs it was saying it will be using like 6-8 Litres Per 100 KM (like 33 MPG) however now that i am driving it i see something close to 14 Litres per KM (16MPG),
I am in a heavy populated city thus my driving can be considered extra urban but still this difference seems huge, even when i am driving in EKO mode the figures do not improve drastically. Could it be because the car is new? Anyone else experiencing something similar?
Glc Coupe!

You may have to wait a few thousand km's before your fuel economy figures improve.. Brand new engines will use a little more fuel until they have bedded in.

Agree with Tiger X comments.
Run in eco or comfort for first 1500km, I think that’s 1000 miles approx.
I put in around 400ml (can of beer or coke size) of metho to dissolve any water from condensation in petrol tank, once a year, its then burnt via engine.
I also put in a petrol injector, fuel tank cleaner regularly, this may help ensure better performance and injector function, yes I have a diesel, but I also run petrol cars - metho and injector cleaner in this post is for petrol issue. Do not put metho in your diesel!!!!
Also check quality of petrol you use, avoid ethanol and go for higher octane for quality and performance.
And check tyre inflation, try running at 36psi.
good luck and keep us informed.

Mercedes Benz GLC 250
Hi Piannino,
I have a 2017 GLC 250 (non coupe) and I too live in a congested urban setting (as you called "extra urban") and drive on Comfort mode right through and I get around 300 miles on a full tank (pretty much up to when the reserve light comes on). I've had the GLC since December 2016 and it has been consistently giving around 300 to 315 miles on a full tank right through (basically putting 60 to 65 litres each fill up). Sadly it seems it's just how it goes in our kind of urban setting.

Hello Everyone thank you for your replies,
I really don't mind the extra gas its using since its an amazing car and is worth every gallon its burning
Only thing is that if i knew that from the beginning i might have chosen the Diesel one or even the hybrid one, i only went for the petrol since it seemed to be burning extremely reasonable amounts of gas and i couldn't see a reason not to get the benefits and power of petrol.
As for the a "little more" i wouldn't call almost DOUBLE the consumption a little more , I am runing it in EKO and Confortm mode exclusively and Mercedes mentions 7-8 litres per 100, At the moment my figures are 14 per 100... with an average spd of 40km/hour. Even if i run a couple thousand of kilometers i dont think i can expect a huge drop. Unless i am mistaken of course.

My '43 has done nearly 9000kms, and on average i get 11L / 100kms - inner city driving, lots of stop/start... 10.2L / 100km is my best so far for city driving.. On the hwy i get 8L / 100km.
