Rough Shifting
Rough Shifting
Anyone with a GLC300 experiencing rough shifting from 1st to 2nd in SPORT mode? Downshifting seems to be OK, but upshifting is really rough and slowly becoming worse. Not noticeable in "Comfort", but pretty bad in Sport (and Sport+ and Individual modes). 2nd to 3rd on up seems OK.
Did a forum search and found a similar issue, but didn't seem to be the same....

My GLC 300 issue with rough shifting from 1st to 2nd in Sport modes seems to have been resolved after a few days at the dealer. Appears the ATF was low, but not sure if that was the issue or if it was the software update and related shift adaptation tweaks.
Anyway, here are the service notes, just in case others might have the same issue. And a quick shout-out to MBZ of Austin for excellent service.

"Multiple causes. Test drove vehicle (9683-8686, 9:01-9:23), during road test, verified slightly harsher shift 1-2 in "sport plus" and "individual" drive modes. Connected battery charger and performed short test. No relevant fault codes were present or stored in ME, ETC, Powertrain, ESP, etc. Checked/corrected fluid level in automatic transmission. Generated control unit logs and logged EEPROM data. Performed transmission adaptation for shift 1-2. Consulted with shop foreman, performed software update on ME & Transmission control units. Performed SCN coding. Test drove with shop foreman and compared to like vehicle. Vehicle of the same chassis, engine & transmission variant, and model year behaved the same way. Released vehicle."
