iPad Rear Plug and Play how does it work?
Has anyone actually purchased these and how does it work?
1) Is it simply a mount or are there electrical connections that function? $300 seems expensive for just a mount.
2) It seems there are different models for different iPad versions, is it because of different form factors? MB couldn't make one sit fits all?

I finally convinced SF MB to waive the restocking fee and I just went ahead to find out myself. Here’s what I’ve found out after receiving the product.
1. it’s a 3 piece part (a. Mounting point for port located behind driver/passenger seat, b. An arm that connects to the mounting point that rotates and c. what MB interchangeably calls the “ipad holder/cradle”) that holds the device in place with charging directly integrated into the cradle
2. MB mentions that additional cradles are available, but no evidence of that so far (HELP PLEASE)
3. the cradle I received did not fit the 10.2” (7th gen ipad to present size) nor did it fit, a 4th generation ipad air, I assume it would fit a 6th gen
4. it’s a shame because the cradle has a lightning connection point and the mount into the seat back charges the device AND adds USB port for other peripherals charging
hope that helps…I’m almost convinced I could find another cradle after connecting the port and seeing how seamless it is, really a bummer.
