Can Independent Mechanics update Digital Service Report?

I have a 2017 GLC 300 CPO with 3 years left on the warranty. If I get my B Service done by an independent mechanic, would it validate my warranty? I heard that there is something called a Digital Service Report where all service is entered - can independent mechanics access it? If not, would MB still honor my warranty?

I am a newbie here and did search but wasn't able to find the answer.

Thanks in advance.

A gaggle of MB's
If you keep the paper documentation from your Indie - that's all you need - the Mercedes master record is called "VMI" and records only MB Dealer service on that permanent record. More and more CarFax can pickup some indie service records - but that CarFax service record is not official.

How about those of us who do our own oil/filter changes and reset the service indicator? I have receipts for the oil and filters... am I asking for issues down the road if I have to make a warranty claim? I have such a hard time justifying dealer service costs when I'm more than capable of, and enjoy, doing routine maintenance...

As long as you keep receipts and document your own maintenance, you'll be fine with your warranty. They cannot deny you coverage because your change your own oil.
