Voice SMS
Has anyone figured out how to vocally send/reply to a text message? It was easy on our Avalon but I can't seem to get this.
I press the button and say 'text new message' it asks if I want SMS or e-mail...no matter which I choose it brings me to the message screen and the voice stops...am I supposed to input the message manually...while driving?

I forgot how archaic Hërr Mercedes can be sometimes with certain aspects of consumer tech...Mechanically advanced? Ja! Good handling? Ja! Top notch interior? Ja! Comfortable? Ja! Simple scan for the radio? Nein! Not needed!

What kind of phone do you have? With an iPhone, you can hold down the voice button on the steering wheel for several seconds until you hear a beep. That is Siri and you can then use Siri commands to speak your text message. Example: Siri send Mary Smith a text message Siri will respond what do you want to say, you respond with your message, Siri repeats it and you say send. You can listen to text messages the same way.
