I started that way, but the discount was $1200 over invoice, which I did not find satisfactory. I negotiated down from there, but not a ton. Ended up $400 over invoice and could likely have done better if I wanted to play the game badly enough.

Just in case if you folks did not know: there is a number of discounts like MBCA, USAA, corporate, and so on. These apply AFTER you negotiated your best price!
In theory can go below the invoice, for this example $400 above - $500 MBCA = -$100.

Yeah, I actually ended up net $600 under invoice, as I had an additional $500 fleet discount due to an association membership, when combined with the M-B fleet discount, totalled $1000. My last 3 cars were all 2% below invoice due to a manufacturer "partner" membership, so I was not really satisfied until I got below invoice on the GLC.
