Beep sound at startup

I'm hoping this is a straightforward one. When I start the car, I get two beeps/alerts from what I think is the parking sensor. It's annoying as hell. How do I turn that noise off? A search of the user manual didn't turn up anything. Perhaps I'm using the wrong search terms?

Lemme try that again now that I've futzed with the car some more. On my GLC, the parking sensor is enabled by default. If I'm parked close enough to a wall for the parking sensor to notice, it beeps as soon as I shift from P to D or R. Since I'm ALWAYS parked next to a wall or pole, my GLC barks at me like an angry goat pretty much every time I start it. Is there a way to disable the parking sensors by default upon start?

I now have a resolution, so I wanted to post an update in case it helps someone else.

I finally remembered to ask my advisor while I was at the dealership. As a reminder, the car sounded an alert whenever I shifted into Drive post-start (this is a more precise description than I had in the past). The dealer diagnosed a corroded front parking sensor wiring harness which disabled one of the sensors. That's what that alert was about. The repair was fairly expensive but now the alert is gone and the front sensors are actually doing their job! Another new sign: when I have the parking sensors engaged (per the P button below the left-side vent), a P symbol appears at the bottom of the instrument cluster.

The availability of the front sensors hasn't changed my operation style much since I got used to turning on the front camera. But I can definitely see the utility for someone who doesn't have the cam. Anyhow, that was that.

I assume you are referring to 27 - that is the Electronic Parking break - not sure how that is related to the parking sensors - maybe I am missing something ?

Optional buttons that would be located above 28. Here. I'm referring to the "P" button.

That makes more sense - too many buttons labeled with P - thanks.
