GLC vs Q5

Considering a 2016-2017 GLC 300. Wife liked the styling and interior on this more than the Audi Q5. However, I had planned on getting her the supercharged V6 3.0T in the Q5 which has proven to be reliable. Only option in the GLC 300 is the 2.0T. I have worries about the 4 cyl 2.0T engines but I do not have experience with Mercedes Benz 2.0T. Do they burn a lot of oil? How has ownership costs been? I read some threads already on brake squeal and some interior issues which is not a big deal. I mostly do not want to deal with engine/electrical issues.

As current owners of the GLC 300, did you consider the Audi Q5 when shopping? What were the features or options that made you decide on the GLC 300 over the Q5 or other comparable CUV in the segment?

Actually you can get the GLC with a 6 cyl engine... it's just named different (AMG GLC 43). We just returned our 2017 GLC 300 and got a new 2020 one. No issues with the 4 cyl 2.0 L turbo.
The ownership cost of the GLC would probably be a little higher than the Q5. The scheduled Mercedes services are kind of pricy, and Audi gives complimentary first year service.

Compare the Q5 V6 with the GLC43. Both have a V6. Engines are more smoother compared to the 4banger. I found the 4 Banger loud and rough. I think the GLC43 will ride better compared to the more sporty Audi.
