27k miles just did Service A at dealer. Asked to check engine air filter said they did it was fine till 50k miles. Didn’t trust them so checked myself at home filter needed replacement was going black on top and inside pleats and also air box was dirty with bugs inside needed to vacuum inside. Put new filter ordered from amazon for 20 dollars Mann filter took 15 minutes it’s very easy. I live in LA not to many dirt roads around here. I suggest everybody should check and replace air filter no way it can go 50k miles.
I replaced mine at 20,000 miles because a poster here (who I'm guessing is a MB Tec) recommended it. I also found it and its box dirty like yours. Used Mann C28004 bought from Rockauto for $10.78.

Replaced mine at 43000 KM. Pretty dirty.
I got from Amazon Mann Filter C28004 and took approx 10-20 min to do the replacement including cleaning the air box.

Really makes no difference when you change the air filter. Engines are now computer controlled. It will adjust air/fuel ratio to compensate. The only situation where a clean filter would perform better would be full throttle acceleration.

The only situation where a clean filter would make sense is the dealer wants to make money. lol
Looks like you got a front wheel drive . But I think if same petrol variant should be the same filter. I have a diesel ,I just service mine a week ago ( out of warranty) .I used Hengst air filter and Mann diesel fuel filter. I cannot get an aftermarket oil filter so have to buy the original Merc .

Correct but please keep note that the 48V mild hybrid does not apply to North America. The E 350 in North America is not the same as the E 350 in everywhere else. The E 350 is really an E 300 that the rest of the world calls it (it is alongside the E 350 sold in Europe for example).
