19” spare tire for2019 GLC 300

I just bought a 2019 GLC300 and do not fill comfortable with not have a spare tire with me everyday.
i will appreciate if someone found a solution to this concern.
I bought the car in Toronto, Canada
In addition, I called the mb dealer to ask if 18” rims and tires from a GLA 250 (year 2018) can be installed to a GLC 300 (year 2019) to replace existing 19” rims and tires. He said that they will not be able to do that, therefore the question raises: did anyone tried to do this before. Did any issue arise.
thanks in advance
Koti

Hi Koti, congrats on the purchase. There are two separate chains on this topic on the first page of this forum. You can find them by scrolling down the page.

Spare is an option on the 2020 model for $200. You can possibly go back to your dealer and ask them if they can help you get the spare tire.
Based on glancing through the inventories of 2020 GLC 300 on MBUSA webisite, despite it being available at only $200, few GLC 300 come with this option (2020 GLC available) on the lots. It is a shame.
BVC500 pointed you to the valuable info previously discussed, it usually involves buying old spare tires from other models that fit the GLC300. Others have been able to order one that MB approved, the tire and the rim is about $850 + other accessories, it may end up costing you around $1,300 to $1,500. The bad thing is that once stored you won't be able to lock the wheel well cover and the width of the rim is too tall for the wheel well (it was not designed for such a spare in the first place.)
Best option may be contacting your dealer for help.
Good Luck.

That is INSANE to ask that much for "official MB approved spare tire".... Im awaiting Camaroguy''s GLC 300 kit to come in getting his feed back.. I'll going that route once I can confirm his findings.

Maybe the 2020 part/kit for $200 will fit the 2019? I have a 2020 and never saw the trunk-space of the 2019, so I wouldn't know if it was tremendously different. But $200 - if it comes with a wheel and jack - seems a bargain compared to cobbling together from other parts.
