Question Hands Free Access issues

So I've gotten the hands free access to work exactly one time when the car was delivered and that took a lot of attempts. How's it working for everyone else that got this option? Did you also get the tow hitch?

Are you referring to the tailgate open/close with your foot?

I found that you need to stick your foot under the bumper for just a second and pull it away. Don't hold it under the bumper and expect the lid to open while you're balancing on one leg.

At least that's what I've found so far...but I have actually used it carrying groceries from my garage to my house with both hands full. Didn't expect to ever use it.

Yes, option P17 HANDS-FREE ACCESS would be it's official name. It's part of the parking assistance package.

has anyone tried to purchase an after market power liftgate for the trunk or the hands-free access package? i asked the dealer and they said this is factory installed and can not be bought at the dealer. i've seen some products installed in C63s in Asia but not sure if those are sold here in the US.

I just finished filling it up and while I was waiting at the gas station I decided to just take another stab at it. Success! I found the one spot that works every time. Not sure if it's different for other peoples, but for mine it's to the left of the hitch. Now to just get the wife to be able to do it...

It took a couple of times but I find a left to right motion under the sensor works for us.
