First Oil Change

My first diy oil change went without a hitch. 7 quarts of oil $46, mercedes oil filter $14, copper crush washer 15 cents.

Is your oil full @ 7 quarts? Mine needed closer to 7.5 (I believe 7.4 qt capacity)

Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class The 2.0L 4 -cylinder engine uses a 5W-40 viscosity and holds 7.4 quarts on the Base model, 6.9 quarts on the 4MATIC.
Mine is a 4MATIC so 7 quarts does it for me.

mine is 4matic too. I’ve changed mine 2x already (4500 and 10k) and both times needed 7+, dipstick was not showing full with only 7. Is yours ?

Yes 7 quarts took me to the full line on the dipstick.

Nice work up thanks... ???? was there much oil left in the filter housing when you pulled out the filter?

As I had learned from utube the MB filter is designed to drain off into the engine, so before lifting the car I removed the engine oil fill cap and loosened the oil filter lifting it slightly and leaving it slightly cocked in it`s housing. I then lifted the car and removed the oil pan plug and let it sit for a couple of hrs to drip out, the dirtiest oil comes out last. The amount of oil left in the filter-housing is shown in one of the pics, it was not very much and I just wiped it out with paper towels before reinstalling the new filter in place.
