Rear seat flip switches

Small change I have noticed between the 2020 GLC and those previous, is that Mercedes has deleted the rear seat flip switch from the rear passenger area. There is still a switch in the rear cargo compartment, though.

The now absent switch is pictured here next the outboard seat's belt buckle.

There's a switch somewhere in the cabin because I've seen it used. I think it might be on top of the seats, can't remember.

Neither my 2016 250d nor my 2020 300d had/have that button.

All Canadian GLC's pre 2019 had them, now they all don't

My 18 had them but my 20 does not - I liked having them in both places...

on GLC300 #2, a 2022 CPO purchased b/c I really dislike the X254's UI (GL350 before those)
Wow, only from this thread I now realize that I can't fold the rear seats without walking back around to open the tailgate and use those cargo area switches. That's an odd omission. My kid's CX-5's manual release three-way split rear seats allow both local seatback control plus remote cargo hold lever activation over each tri-section individually. Yet our electrically actuated seatback latches get only the remote switching. The redundant electric switches of prior year Canadian cars could not cost all that much to include before they got axed, and they're the type of detail that make ownership just that much more pleasant and so denote a further degree of luxury. My former GL had identically styled redundant switches for the 3rd row seat located just inside the rear doors plus the expected cargo hold set.
If this was Tesla, maybe that function could become available via an automatically downloaded update creating a button both on the car's touchscreen interface and on the Mercedes Me Connect app. Even then, we'd still lack any immediately convenient, single step, impulse-type method for flipping down a seat while leaning in from an open door.
